Response Analysis

Since not all incidents can be prevented, it is important to plan for emergency response and allocate resources accordingly. One important measure is the travel time to incidents. During a planning exercise, it is impossible to predict the tides, winds and currents that would prevail during response to an incident. Because of this, an ideal constant travel speed is assumed. This figure shows an example of range rings in 1-hour intervals from each of several Coast Guard Bases in the vicinity of Prince Edward Island.
