Contributions to MARIN Project:

My thesis research examined the use of exploratory spatial data analysis methods suitable for the analysis of point patterns to determine whether they would support maritime search and rescue planning on the Pacific Coast of Canada. It incorporated the use of a geographic information system and spatial data analysis techniques to explore spatial and spatio-temporal trends in marine incident data provided by the Canadian Coast Guard.

As a project research assistant, I reviewed and collected metadata about geographic and non-geographic marine datasets for the west coast and supervised other students who were responsible for obtaining, cleaning, and restructuring these datasets.

My thesis supervisor was Dr. Peter Keller.
