Mukesh's primary duty is to develop a risk model for the marine accidents, particularly in the Canadian waters. The work involves:
- Identification of potential risk factors that can be assessed with the level of detail available in the existing cruise ship traffic database.
- Development of risk models (Bayesian) to predict the casualty occurrences.
- Assisting to conduct workshop(s) with Canadian Coastal Guard personnel, other experts and the Project Director to elicit expert opinion and judgment on the risk factors, probabilistic risk assessment of marine accidents.
- Completion of the quantitative risk model with possible improvements based on the results of workshop(s).
- Compiling the final results and provide the final report on the risk modeling of Large Passenger Vessels (LPV).
