Boating Safety for Anglers & Hunters: A survey of Practices and Perceptions

This study is intended to provide a greater insight into the boating safety practices of recreational hunters and anglers across Canada. It is also intended to provide insight into the attitudes that these sportsmen hold regarding boating safety, safety education and legislation. It is the ultimate intent of MARIN that this information will be used to provide feedback to government and education groups regarding their efforts to promote boating safety. This project is funded by the Office of Boating Safety, which is a division of Transport Canada.

If you have used a boat while hunting or fishing (as recreation / a sport) within the past 12 months and are at least 19 years old, there are two ways you can participate. You could complete our survey, which will help us to show us the general practices of hunters and anglers. Or, you could participate in one of our focus groups, where you will be able to discuss your views and experiences in person with one of our researchers and other hunters and anglers from your area.

Please follow one of the links below if you would like to participate. More information will be provided.
